Fan of art from an early age, he moved to Barcelona where he began to explore artistic fields such as painting, sculpture and sewing. Immediately, the world of dressmaking became one of his great passions.
During his artistic studies he decided to travel to Australia, where he discovered a new cultural influence that transcended the idea of fashion as he knew it. Upon his return to Barcelona, he enrolled in the School of Fashion Arts and Techniques at the Ramón Llull University, where he obtained an honours degree that allowed him to carry out internships with brands such as JOSÉ CASTRO and ESCADA. In addition to his higher studies, José María was already immersing himself in the fashion industry by working for brands like CARAMELO and later for HACKETT. Both brands are renowned for their excellent tailoring work.
Once he finished his studies, he worked at KAREN MILLEN in a leading position before joining the ARMANI team, continuously broadening his understanding of aesthetics, and now he holds a global vision of his own. He was able to develop as a professional by leading corporate identity projects that led him to work on many occasions alongside the founder of the brand. Finally, in 2013 he founded his own fashion brand Ze García in Barcelona.
