GUANTE BLANCO IS ZE GARCÍA’S LATEST 2020 COLLECTION

“Set in the 90s, Guante Blanco presents the new trends of the season under a halo of minimalist glamour that focuses on the empowerment of women.”

– José María García

Fast forward to fashion week and to welcome the long-awaited month of September, Ze García presents in digital format its new Autumn/Winter 2020 collection: Guante Blanco. In a convulsive and changing year for the fashion industry, the Spanish Haute Couture brand vindicates its own time and the timelessness of its designs in an editorial set in the 90s immersed in a halo of minimalist glamour.

The editorial was shot by emerging fashion photographer Tamara Ruibal who captures the story of a mother and daughter. The women appear elegant and enigmatic in the everyday scenes that take place in their affluent summer residence. Their lifestyle exudes a certain mystery and feminine empowerment that is subtly revealed through the analogue images that evoke the iconic and nostalgic aesthetic. As the name of the collection suggests, the narrative is about two white-collar female thieves, a figure that used to be associated with a masculine presence. This collection is also presented in video format. The fashion film, directed by Ze García’s own creative director and produced by Neven Barcelona, both based in Barcelona, which allows the brand to create a perfect hybrid between analogue and digital to present its latest offering in the fashion sector.

Haute Couture with a purpose

The new Guante Blanco collection is defined by its sensual, elegant and timeless character. The distinctive attributes are still faithful to the brand. For the first time since its birth in 2013, this collection brings together in the same editorial a set of ageless designs capable of mimicking both a mature and a young woman without losing sight of the fresh, sophisticated and renewed vision of the designer. With a made to order and completely handmade sustainable production, the festive pieces point out that in addition to their aesthetics, they promote true morals and a purpose as a brand.

Guante Blanco presents statement jewellery

For this season, the designer combines recurring marine colours, with striking warm colours and ethnic prints that create a chromatic harmony that is both fun and balanced. It includes designs finished with natural feathers, numerous asymmetrical necklines, infinite possibilities and a new take on the classic suit, a two-colour two-piece that will be worn throughout the season in different tones. The asymmetrical caftan in printed chiffon is also added to a classic pair of skinny trousers and the off-the-shoulder neckline, also known as a boat neckline. This is one of the designer’s favourites.

To complement this collection, Ze García launches his third collaboration with Atelier Customima, the custom jewellery brand made in Barcelona. A line with a large amount of gold, chained earrings, hoops embellished with zirconia, bracelets in different sizes and some necklaces with more organic shapes, all the pieces are made in gold-plated silver and zirconia and merge with the glamorous air of the nineties

Catalan Renaissance Mansion

Guante Blanco is presented in a dream location: Finca Mas Solers. From the Peralada group, Finca Mas Solers is a late 19th century Catalan Renaissance-style mansion which, in its golden age, held the early Gran Casino of Barcelona, but it was originally the residence of a wealthy family in the area, thus becoming the idyllic setting for this collection. A place with history, iconism, and with rooms and gardens that look like they came straight out of a film.
